Adjusting our sails

This is quite an important one for us, please read…

We’ve been at this a little while now, we’re coming up to growtogether’s 3rd birthday, and the completion (?) of our initial three year plan, which was probably similar to most new business’ first three year plan; setup; get correct systems in place; establish the business and it’s customer base.

So that’s where we’re at and we’re happy with what we have achieved. We’ve learnt a heck of a lot, but very happy to say not nearly everything.

We’re not entirely sure how to put this next bit without sounding like some vague, idealistic and abstract creative marketing spiel … but let’s try. Growtogether isn’t just the name of a specific service and / or product led business to us (see!). It has been led consciously, and unconsciously, by our morals, our connections to the past, concerns for the future and our beliefs in the importance of culture and community. Food has such a massive part to play in all of this, how we eat, what we eat. Food is central to so much of all our lives, far more than we ever realised and in honesty far more than we think most people still realise. Our diets can affect so much more than just our waist line, it’s no longer hidden. The importance of what we eat in regards to environmental sustainability can no longer be missed. The same goes for physical, and more recently, mental welfare or well being. Sociability. Food has always been a massive part of communities and culture, our histories and past, we celebrate and connect with every corner of the world by sharing the meals of their ancestors. We miss out on a lot if we just see food as something to grab to fill us up.

Too much? It’s going a little Martin Luther. Bottom line - we love it, we love it all. We love food, we really love GOOD food, good ingredients, good produce, being part of the incredible chains that get it to you, celebrating it, celebrating it’s producers, connecting, embracing the seasons, utilising and inventing, enjoying, sharing, caring.

There is a reason for all this …

We are making changes. An opportunity came to us, about a year ago now. A new business / venture, so good that despite our already hands full schedule we couldn’t turn it down. In the fear of this becoming our incredibly premature and underwhelming biography we won’t go into the unnecessary details and will again go with the bottom line, which is that we now have a physical space, more commonly known as a shop, for growtogether to reside.

For the last year we have been running (appropriate term) it as a separate venture but as of the end of March we will be merging to one.

This is going to mean a lot to growtogether, as we settle in we are going to be able to offer our lovely customers so much more and it feels like the perfect step to enable us to … grow.

In this however there will be one large impact to what we offer in terms of service as we will unfortunately be pausing our delivery service and our boxes and produce will be collection only from our shop at Beachside, Hayle. We apologise to those that this affects negatively, the delivery run is obviously a huge part of what we currently do and we will miss it hugely but many factors have been taken into consideration here and we feel that overall the changes that we are making will be incredibly positive and progressive for growtogether and it’s customers. And if that doesn’t cut it the shop also serves wonderful coffee and cake!

We’re effectively pruning. Making a bit of space for future growth. (how many points for that analogy?!)

Most importantly, everything else stays the same, orders placed the same way, same products/boxes, same fantastic produce, no thought necessary, it’ll be ready and waiting for you, you just have to swing in and grab it.

Also very importantly, nothing changes this week, or next, so please continue to order as normal and your boxes will still be delivered to your doors on Thursday. We will of course continue to inform and remind of what and when our changes will take place.

If you would like to contact us directly about anything then please feel absolutely free to do so.

Continued thanks for all your support.
